Jim Chilton has specialized in providing investment banking and financial advisory services to public entities since 1970. Mr. Chilton, as lead banker, has completed billions of dollars in tax-exempt housing financings.
In 1983, Mr. Chilton was the co-founder of Chilton & O’Connor, Inc., a municipal investment banking firm. Prior to forming his own investment banking firms, Mr. Chilton was a Senior Vice President and manager of the Shearson/American Express Public Finance Division (currently Lehman Brothers) for the western United States. While with Shearson, Mr. Chilton worked with cities, redevelopment agencies, counties, states, and special districts and authorities to finance major capital improvements between 1976 and 1983. Prior to 1976, Mr. Chilton served as Senior Municipal Financial Consultant for the Bank of America N.T. & S.A. in San Francisco. His initial position in the public finance industry in 1970 was with Wainwright & Ramsey in Los Angeles.
A graduate of Arizona State University, he received
a Bachelor of Science in Economics, a Master of Science
in Economics, and a Master of Arts in Political Science.
Mr. Chilton also served U.S. Senator Carl Hayden of
Arizona for three years as a Special Assistant.
